This is my new wrist tattoo:) When I was younger, my cousin and I were really close. She was the older sister I always wanted.  She even lived with me for awhile.  Then I moved to where I live now and we never got to see each other.  She would write me letters and send me pictures of her baby, but I rarely wrote back.  Well, when I was in 7th grade, she died in a motorcycle wreck.  I was devastated and I realized I never really wrote her back, and I regret it so much.  One day I was looking through old letters and (I had kept all of hers separate) I found one she wrote me for my birthday, and when I found it, my birthday was just a few days away, which is a coincidence.  At the bottom, she wrote “P.S. Write Back!” and so, as a tattoo for her, and to remind me to never take things for granted, I got that on my wrist.

NGC 6992: Filaments of the Veil Nebula
Wisps like this are all that remain visible of a Milky Way star. About 7,500 years ago that star exploded in a supernova leaving the Veil Nebula, also known as the Cygnus Loop. At the time, the expanding cloud was likely as bright as a crescent Moon, remaining visible for weeks to people living at the dawn of recorded history. Today, the resulting supernova remnant has faded and is now visible only through a small telescope directed toward the constellation of the Swan (Cygnus).
